About the Founder

Sandeep Khanna has 30 years of international experience in Strategy, Business Management, New Market Entry and People Development in a career with Shell, ICI and the Tata Group. He has held several leadership positions at country and global level, based out of India and UK.

Sandeep worked as a Branch Sales Manager with ICI and Regional Sales Manager with Shell in India in the early part of his career. He was later the Global Retail Planning & Strategy Manager for Shell’s petrol stations business and Global Manager for Shell’s Aviation specialties business based out of London. Shell subsequently appointed him the Country Downstream-One Manager for India. In addition, he was involved in several New Market Entries and corporate level strategic initiatives with Shell. He also had a stint with Shell’s Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) business. His last role was Director Petroleum Retailing and Marketing with TCS in UK.

His key strengths have been bottom-line delivery, strategy development and marketing & sales. He has been firmly growth-oriented with strong interpersonal skills. Having worked in Agricultural Products, Lubricating Oils, Fuel Retailing, Aviation, LNG and Consultancy he has exposure to all sectors of an economy.

Sandeep has actively been a guest speaker at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration in Mussoorie and Ambedkar University Delhi. He has conducted sessions on Competitive Strategy, Developing Competitive Advantage through Digital technology, Leadership and Motivation, Corporate Social Responsibility, Energy trends and sustainability, Project Appraisal etc.

He is presently – and as founder of Skill Strategy Scale Associates - a strategy consultant to Indian SME’s helping them to grow, and to MNC’s seeking to establish operations in India. In addition, he is a leadership coach and trainer. Sandeep is on the jury of Ambedkar University’s Incubation Centre assessing start-up business ventures and mentoring them to scale up.

His interests include cricket and Hindi poetry. He is a qualified cricket umpire with the England Cricket Board (ECB) - Association of Cricket Officials. He has travelled in over 50 countries in all continents for work assignments. Way back in 1991 he had been rated amongst the ‘Best Young Managers’ by All India Management Association (AIMA).

Sandeep is an alumnus of Faculty of Management Studies (FMS) and Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC), University of Delhi. And he has attended management development programmes on Finance at Cranfield School of Management UK, on Retailing at INSEAD France and on Strategic Leadership at IMD Switzerland.
